Best Stowe Bike Trails

04/09/2018 | by bizcor | Local Area

Until relatively recently, biking activities in Stowe stopped once the first flurries of snow fell and didn’t resume again until the first blooms of spring began pushing their way towards the sun. Just as motorcyclists wait for warmer days, so did our tourists and local residents who preferred to use their own muscles for transportation. Today, however, with the advent of the fat tire bike, biking is becoming a year-round activity-assuming, of course, you can take the cold of a Vermont winter! For bikers of all ages and types, we have compiled this list of the best bike rental stores and Stowe trails. Enjoy!

Mountain Ops, 4081 Mountain Road

Sometimes all you need is a simple bike rental, and Mountain Ops is the perfect place for just that. Offering adult bikes, kid bikes, and trailers and tag-a-longs for the cute little ones who can’t ride on their own yet, helmets are provided as a part of the reasonable rental fee.

iRide, 409 Mountain Road

While everyone agrees on the importance of friendly and helpful staff when purchasing or renting anything, it’s not always easy to find a shop where the staff goes out of its way to ensure you are happy and satisfied. iRide is the exception. Offering mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, and answers to any and all questions you may have, you can’t go wrong renting from iRide!

Now for the Stowe Bike Trails!

Intervale Trail – Located in nearby Burlington, this quiet and scenic trail is popular with mountain bikers, hikers, and cross-country skiers. Simple and serene, the 2-mile length makes this a perfect path for beginners.

Colchester Bayside to Village Path – Offering a firmly packed dirt path trail in some parts and paved in others, this trail is great for families. It’s longer than the Intervale Trail, but the smoothness of the path makes it a trail that is used by street bikers, hikers, cross country skiers, and inline skaters.

Cross Vermont Trail – Feeling brave? The Cross Vermont Trail is a trail system that currently spreads out for 87 miles, but eventually will literally cross the entire state of Vermont. The trails listed here are a part of the trail system, as are many more throughout the state. Designed for mountain bikers that are experienced, your Vermont vacation promises to be the adventure of a lifetime when you attempt these Stowe trails.
