Life is sweet in Vermont, but on the last weekend of April it gets a little sweeter. This year the 52nd annual Vermont Maple Festival will be held in St. Albans, VT, from April 27 to April 29. For three incredible days thousands of festival-goers will celebrate the first harvest and Vermont’s most favorite “crop” with demonstrations, live entertainment, and an incredible collection of local arts and crafts.
Located in the charming hamlet of St. Albans, the festival is three days of small town charm. Popular events include the Antique Show (April 28-29, Town Educational Center), the Fiddler’s Variety Show (April 28 @7pm, $7), and the Craft and Food Show (April 27-29, BFA Gym) featuring more than 60 vendors with a fabulous array of local handicrafts, specialty foods, and craft innovations. All of the events take place on or around Main St., making it easy to get around and see everything.
Maple Brews and Pancakes Too
You won’t want to miss the Maple Beverage Tasting (21+) featuring a delicious lineup of brewed beverages made from delicious local maple syrup. One of our favorite events is the Pancake Breakfast, April 28 and 29 from 7am to noon at St. Alban’s Elementary. This delicious fundraiser promises all comers the flavors of Vermont, from fluffy pancakes to savor maple sausages to delicious local cheeses. Tickets are available at the door ($4-$8).
At the center of all the action is the Vermont Maple Festival Carnival, featuring all of your favorite midway rides and attractions. Get your face painted, snarf down some maple-flavored cotton candy, and then hop aboard classic rides and enjoy yourself into the hours of the night.
