Indoor Activities

So maybe skiing isn’t your idea of fun or you’re looking for something to do on a rainy summer day, there is still plenty to do in Stowe to stay active.

Bikram Yoga Stowe

Located right in Stowe village, this studio is known as the best hot yoga in Stowe. Try the Saturday 9am class as a great way to start your day or the Sunday 4pm class to close out the weekend, but get there a little early as these popular classes fill up quickly! Classes are 90 minutes and are suited for all ages and levels of ability.

Stowe Yoga Center

Stowe Yoga Center, located on Moscow Road, is a community studio that offers beginner-friendly classes. Each class begins with a balanced warm-up for all areas of the body. You then progress through standing, seated, and floor poses (poses or asanas are usually held 4-5 breaths).  The practice ends with guided and silent meditation. Schedule is posted online.

The Yoga Barn

This serene studio, set in a refurbished barn along the Mountain Road, offers a full range of classes, from vigorous flow to restorative practices. See class descriptions online, as well as schedules, and drop in or buy a punch card.

Studio 108 Fitness

This little gem on the Mountain Road offers up some great workout classes that are far from ordinary. Owner Stephanie Justine is a certified ZUMBA instructor, and offers Zumba along with other classes, such as spinning, Pilates, and TRX. Classes run throughout the day. Be sure to check out the schedule online as some classes require advance sign up.

Stowe Bowl

Located adjacent to the Sun and Ski Inn and Suites on the Mountain Road, this 8-lane treasure is not what you expect! This state-of-the-art venue is much more than a plain old bowling alley – it’s more swanky, cozy, comfortable, loungy, and even elegant. With great food, a full bar serving anything from Shirley Temples to White Russians, a lounge atmosphere, and a high-tech audio-visual experience, this is great year-round for all ages!

The Swimming Hole

This place is often the antidote for kids and bad weather, no matter the time of year. The barn-like structure, located just off of the Mountain Road, houses an impressive twenty-five meter lap pool, with a designated area for open swimming and elevated diving board. Plus, a separate children’s play area with a large water slide, shallow pools, and a water toy area is perfect for infants and bigger kids. And, besides the water features, there’s also a large, state-of-the-art gym and fitness classes.
