If staying in Stowe mountain rentals in the summer or anytime outside of the cold winter months, the shimmering lakes and waterways around your cozy condo at Depot Street are some of the best places to visit. The Lamoille River runs for approximately 85 miles from Lake Champlain through just north of Stowe, and in its wake, it leaves behind some of the most lovely, bucolic landscapes in Vermont. In Morristown, visitors can enjoy Lake Lamoille as well as Lake Elmore right down the road with its hiking trails and historic lakeside cottages. However, the Green River Reservoir State Park allows visitors a complete, all-in-one outdoors package which includes an opportunity for camping, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming, and boating.
Cup of Cider
Cider is one of the most well-known products from Vermont, both in its alcoholic and its non-alcoholic form. To experience how they make the non-alcoholic version, visit the Cold Hollow Cider Mill in nearby Waterbury and get an up-close look at how cider is pressed and produced. To get a taste of some cider meant for those over 21, don’t forget to visit Stowe Cider and other restaurants in Stowe offering this beverage. Here, visitors can see why Vermont is so highly regarded when it comes to making this beverage with a long and celebrated history.
Educational Experiences in Stowe
When visitors enjoying luxury Stowe Mountain rentals travel, they would like to see something new or otherwise different from the norm. Thankfully, Stowe and its environs have several museums that offer a novel perspective on life in the Green Mountain State. In Stowe, the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum expounds upon the history of winter sports, while the Noyes Museum in nearby Morristown offers visitors a glimpse of what life was like circa 1850. Of course, the nearby Burlington, VT area has museums which include the ECHO Science Museum, The Perkins Geology Museum, and the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum, just to name a few.
Sterling Falls Gorge
The Sterling Falls Gorge or Sterling Gorge Falls Natural Area, depending on who you ask, is located along the northern border of Stowe, VT and it is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural features in a state that has plenty of them. For more than 10,000 years, the Sterling Brook has carved these waterfalls which attract thousands of hikers per year. The trail meanders near the brook and it only takes about 45 minutes to reach the end. It is one of Stowe’s best hikes, especially in the summer.
