Not too long ago, Stowe was #2 on Fodor’s list of the World’s 10 Best Ski Towns for Foodies, only losing out to Courchevel, France. Not too shabby! Things have only gotten better with each passing year. To make it easy on ourselves, we’ve limited our list to just establishments in Stowe, although we have a couple favorites in nearby towns like the Hen in the Wood and Michaels on the Hill. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. Here are our top five fancy Stowe restaurants. Bon appetite!
Solstice at the Alpine Club
Time for a candlelight dinner at the Solstice with farm-to-table fare using local cheeses, meats, and produce. The high ceilings and contemporary interiors complement the cuisine. Recent dinner specials have included Scallops, Braised Pork Belly with Serrano Honey, Brisket Dumplings, and Halibut over Root Vegetables. A great, upscale casual date night kind of dining spot.

Trapp Family Lodge Main Dining Room
It’s farm-to-table dining in a European setting. Wood paneling, warm interiors, and a great view greet you when you arrive. It is sort of upscale touristy, but sometimes that’s just what you need, especially on Wednesday Prime Rib Dinner Night. Dinner entrees include the Wiener Schnitzel, Beef Liver, Pork & Beef Manicotti and Petite Filet of Beef, all made with Trapp Family Farm grass fed beef or pork. All the bread comes from their own bakery as well!
