If you’ve ever wondered why people started to ski in the first place and how it evolved into a sport, you will want to visit this one of a kind museum. There are several exhibits here, including Curious and Cool, which examines both successful and unsuccessful fads and trends in the ski industry. The Hall of Fame exhibit honors all those great ski champions the sport has produced over the years.

The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tickets are a suggested donation of $5.00.

Blown glass is a big part of the culture of Vermont and you will find many blown glass stores and art galleries here. This gallery has some of the most beautiful glass creations you will see in town. You will have the opportunity to watch glass being blown into various shapes and ask questions of the artist. You can also buy some beautiful Stowe arts creations here. There is no admission fee, but contributions for the local animal rescue are accepted.

Housed in an 1861 Greek Revival building, this museum is dedicated to the exhibition of art work and the education of young artist. It was founded by Doctor Lichtenthaler who convinced her companion, the wealthy Helen Day Montanari, to leave a trust in her will for an art center.

Today the museum is known for its “Exposed” exhibit which features large and unusual sculptures around the grounds of the building such as enormous heads carved out of stone.
Admission to the museum is free and they are open 10:00am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
