Nestled within northern Vermont’s beautiful lush mountains, the stunning location of the Stowe Weekend of Hope is the perfect place for healing. Since 2001, the Stowe Weekend of Hope has provided a safe and quiet refuge for cancer survivors and their loved ones to receive support and relaxation among some of the most beautiful views that New England has to offer.
The Purpose of the Stowe Weekend of Hope
When you or a family member go through cancer, it changes your life in every way imaginable. Even after the danger is gone and the patient has come out of the other side a survivor, there still may be questions unanswered and hard experiences that could benefit from some solidarity. The Stowe Weekend of Hope invites those whose lives have been affected by cancer to set out on a retreat with some of the region’s top cancer doctors and researchers. Through seminars, lectures, and presentations, guests are given the opportunity to empower themselves by learning about the latest in cancer research and treatment methods. This is an extremely humane event that enhances the Stowe Vermont tourism!

An Emotional Refuge
Aside from its information sessions, the Stowe Weekend of Hope also provides a calming and nourishing environment that encourages guest to relax, learn new coping mechanisms, and unlock the kind of spiritual support and well-being that they so need and deserve. This supportive atmosphere is offered to cancer survivors, family members, and any type of caregiver who could benefit. By taking a holistic look at what it means to be a cancer survivor, the Stowe Weekend of Hope inspires its attendees to embrace their lives as strong and supported individuals.
The Power of Accessibility
At the helm of its mission, the Stowe Weekend of Hope seeks to provide a low-cost option for a Vermont getaway that could otherwise be financially prohibitive. Aside from a small booking fee, the Stowe Weekend of Hope offers free lodging and depends on donations only. During the event, many of the hospitality services within the community of Stowe open up their doors to provide attendees with free or highly discounted accommodations. Due to its accessibility, the event has been able to bring together cancer survivors from across the country, and even some from outside of the United States. Many of the weekend’s events are also free and open to the public. In past years, free transportation has been provided by Amtrak trains from as far away as Washington, D.C. This event is great for the Stowe Vermont tourism!
