Affectionately known by locals as The Whip in Stowe, this restaurant on historic main street provides American comfort food in a warm and cozy setting. Choose Your Menu
Depending on the time you visit, the kitchen will always be working on recipes in a seasonal fashion straight out of the American cookbook. At lunch, try the signature New England Corn Chowder, a crowd favorite for more than three decades. Or try the Artisanal Cheese Plate which comes with three different local cheeses served alongside a mouth-watering apricot chutney, assorted grapes, maple roasted nuts and honey-oat crostini points. At dinner, the classic Steak au Poivre in a mushroom-cognac sauce and the Grilled Gorgonzola-Crusted Filet Mignon in a red-wine reduction are just two of the reasons why people should dine here. Additionally, the seafood dishes are equally outstanding; it doesn’t matter whether you order the Pan Seared Ahi Tuna or the Faroe Island Salmon, the knowledgeable chef skills in the kitchen never disappoint. For dessert, guests should try the decadent Sac de Bon Bon or Candy Bag which resembles an actual bag made of chocolate then filled with a mousse and topped with whipped cream. The dessert for two comes surrounded with fresh fruits and it is the quintessentially romantic sweet.
Libations & More at The Whip in Stowe
The Whip Bar and Grill in Stowe VT also has a copious bar menu, with signature drinks that include martinis, margaritas, and manhattans. Since this is Vermont, the bar stocks a wide selection of craft beers made from breweries around the Northeast. Although a large amount of their draft beer hails from Vermont, there is still a small list of domestics such as Budweiser, Michelob, and Pabst on the menu. In terms of wine, the list presents an oenophile’s voyage into the world of the grape; with varied varietals that range from the popular merlot to the more esoteric Cinsault and Carignan. Ask your knowledgeable server about the wine to pair with certain dishes on the menu and he or she will be more than happy to assist you.
The Whip Bar & Grill in Stowe VT is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner and the kitchen presents a super Sunday Brunch as well.
