Activities in Stowe
Select one of our 2-bedroom Stowe VT housing near the Stowe Recreation Path and you’ll easily enjoy biking, hiking, or even cross-country skiing along this scenic pathway, not to mention having access to many local restaurants and shops. Meandering from Stowe Village past fields and rivers, the Recreation Path ends at a delightful covered bridge. You can’t get more Vermont than that.
No matter what the season, get outside and get up on those mountains! Enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock or ice climbing, hiking, biking, and more. Use a tour guide or just get out there and have fun on your own!
Hike the popular out-and-back Stowe Pinnacle Trail for amazing views. This steep trail is rated difficult, but the view of the Green Mountains and the Worcester Range from the bald summit is worth the climb, and it’s great for bird watching too. The easier Sunset Rock Trail starts right in Historic Stowe Village, and takes about an hour for the round trip. It’s a gentle, easy trail winding through the woods.
When you need a little break from all those strenuous activities, take the Gondola Skyride to the top of Mt. Mansfield for gorgeous views from the peak. You can ride the gondola back down or take the zipline down! Mt. Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont as well as the heart of skiing activities here in Stowe with its popular “Four Front” trails. Two of the area’s popular hiking trails, the Sunset Ridge Trail and Long Trail, are on Mt. Mansfield.

Stowe Village Massage, the Spa at Stowe Mountain Lodge and the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa all offer massages and other treatments to soothe those aching muscles. Everyone will love a tour of Ben & Jerry’s, especially with the flavor-of-the-day tasting at the end of the tour. Visit the Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm where the Coty family has tapped sugar maple trees since the 1980s and shop homemade maple products in their retail room while you enjoy photos and artifacts on sugarmaking.
