There are three great breweries near Stowe, and with over 60 breweries in the state, there’ll be one wherever you are. Many breweries offer tours; some are a combo brewery and restaurant, while others are strictly tasting rooms. Reservations may be required for sit down service for most, and you can always order online or call ahead for curbside pickup. A call ahead to verify hours of operation is a good idea too.

A small-batch brewery near Stowe and a great restaurant all in one! The Tap Room offers tastes of their own handcrafted beers, guest beers and ciders, and non-alcoholic draft selections of local root beer, organic kombucha and more. Enjoy their Pitch Black, Gose or Saison Lamoille draft out in their casual, covered beer garden, where they concoct tasty specials like their Brisket Sandwich or Braised Jerk Chicken with pineapple and cheddar cheese.

Prohibition Pig
The Pig is known for its craft brews as well as its Southern-style smoked meats. Located in two historic old houses, with the restaurant in front and the brewery in back, the Prohibition Pig is a casual, rustic spot for beer and comfort food. The restaurant focuses on Southern BBQ, while the brewery has a more streamlined Latin flavored menu. Customer favorites include the brisket sandwich, duck fat fries, and the Vanilla Bean Stout.

The Alchemist
It’s the most popular and most famous brewery near Stowe and a must-visit for any craft beer enthusiast. Stop in for a few samples, (they don’t sell pints), then buy what you like from their shop. Easy! There’s sitting outside in the garden too. If you only buy one beer, try their famous flagship double IPA, the Heady Topper.

Idletyme Brewing
Start things off with their Beer Ski Flight, or if you know what you like, order a growler. This is a great spot for the entire family, and for beer lovers and non-beer lovers both. They have a full bar and a delicious farm-to-table restaurant. They’re known for their Bavarian weizens and their award-winning American-style Double IPA, the Doubletyme, is a local favorite.
